Centerra

Loveland, Colorado

In 2006, Blazen Illuminations was approached by the McWhinney Corporation of Loveland, Colorado, one of the premiere property developers in Northern Colorado, to provide them with a plan for holiday lighting at several of their Northern Colorado locations. Among these were the Motorplex Marketplace, the Marketplace at Centerra, and the Promenade Shops at Centerra.

The Blazen Illuminations team determined that McWhinney needed a multi-year plan for design and implementation that reinforced McWhinney's concept for the Centerra property: Live, Work, and Play at Centerra. The holiday lighting display would transform the properties into a destination shopping experience, while emphasizing a mutual commitment to sustainability.

Utilizing recent advancements in LED technology, Blazen Illuminations achieved all of their goals for a vibrant, destination-lighting experience with only a fraction of the power requirements that would have been necessary with traditional incandescent lighting. This had the dual effects of allowing for much smaller electricity costs as well as creating a dramatically smaller carbon footprint.

As part of the multi-year plan, the holiday lighting at Centerra has now become an annual event, with the inaugural lighting taking place on the Friday after Thanksgiving. In addition to the Motorplex and the Promenade Shops, the display has grown to include Medical Center of the Rockies campus, the Outlets at Loveland, and the Van de Water properties in Loveland.

The achievements of this project highlights the Blazen Illuminations philosophy of customer service, “The success of our clients determines our success as well.”
