Denver is Ablaze with Lights and Fireworks for Independence Eve
Blazen Illuminations and Angel Light Pyrotechnics Have Won the Contracts to Provide LED Event Lighting and Fireworks Display for "Civic Center Sounds Independence Eve Celebration" Event in Civic Center Park in Downtown Denver on July 3rd, 2010
(Loveland, CO) Blazen Illuminations LLC of Loveland and Angel Light Pyrotechnics of Pierce, CO have won the contracts to produce the LED lighting show and fireworks display for the first annual “Civic Center Sounds Independence Eve Celebration”. The event is planned by the Civic Center Conservancy, The Colorado Symphony, and the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs. This event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled to start at 8:00pm on July 3rd 2010 in Denver's Civic Center Park located at 14th Avenue and Broadway, in front of the Denver City and County Building.
The event will feature the Colorado Symphony led by Associate Conductor Scott O'Neil performing a selection of patriotic pieces such as the “Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful”. The Denver City and County Building will be lit with over 585 LED light panels to create a unique backdrop to the concert. “ The Lights will create a vibrant and magical backdrop to the symphony performance, and as its gets darker they will build up the excitement to the finale,” said Nate Webb Owner of Blazen Illuminations. The finale of the performance will be timed with the beginning of the fireworks display.
The fireworks finale will be accompanied by the lighting on the building and together they will create a display that has never been done on a civic building. “ We can't think of another display in the country that will be this exciting, except for maybe Washington DC but they don't have the lights and don’t shoot off the building!” said Larry Darrington of Angel Light Pyrotechnics. “Its also one of the largest shows we have ever shot! We are maxing out all of our firing systems. We have about 6000 shots, over a ½ ton of fireworks, at a pace of 8 shots per second. Now that is a show!” added Larry.
